6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Southern Mexico

MEXICO CITY — A powerful 6.0-magnitude earthquake shook southern Mexico Sunday morning, sending nervous residents of the capital into the road.

The US Geological Survey stated the earthquake’s epicenter was 2½ miles (4 kilometers) northwest of Corral Falso within the southern state of Guerrero. The realm sits alongside Mexico’s Pacific coast between the seashore resorts of Acapulco and Zihuatenejo.

There have been no speedy reviews of injury. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated through Twitter that civil protection was checking for injury.

Mexico Metropolis Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum stated there have been no reviews of incidents within the capital.
